Get Ready to
Act Customers With the Right Website Content
By Jamey Bridges
Real estate is a local business. The fact that
real estate is local means you can find consumers willing to act (and act now)
if you focus the content that is on your website and blog.
Believe it or not, this won't involve in-depth keyword research; it just means
you need to have an understanding of what your next customer is looking for.
Get In the Conversation
Conversations about real estate happen every day
from coffee shops to high rise towers. If we could just be a fly on a wall we
could hear the concerns, hopes, and ambitions of those looking to purchase real
estate in our own towns. Often the conversations that we would hear would be
filled with excitement and at other times they might be filled with fear.
In order to find the next customer we can help
in real estate we need to understand as many of the conversations that are
occurring as possible. It is not necessary to only speak of good news, but it
means lying a path where fears aren't left unanswered. Once we understand the
conversations that are going on all around us, then we can speak to those
conversations online.
Write to Your Customers Needs
Too often in real estate we make assumptions. We
assume out customers know everything about the neighborhood they want to live
in, we assume they know the best streets, and sometimes we even assume they
know what the homes should sell for! If we have really listened to the
conversations, then we know that customers don't often know as much as we think
so we must make sure to leave no stone unturned and answer meet their needs.
Start with the most basic of information. What
sounds obvious to you is not that obvious to many. Building a foundation of
good content on your real estate website means you will get customers looking
to learn more and you get to be the source. This fundamental information needs
to come from your perspective so spend time to develop it.
Power content that really hits home with your
next customer won't happen overnight, but it can happen quicker than you think.
Some items to write on can include:
Building a solid foundation of content allows
your next customer to see that you truly are an expert without you shouting
across your website that you are an "expert". Visitors will pour
through the pages of your content and when they find the neighborhood that they
want to live in, they will want to contact you because you have provided them
with an online road map.
Real estate websites and blogs
aren't meant to ever be "done" so make sure to keep adding content
over time. The conversations all around you never stop, so stay fresh and in
the conversation by adding new content as often as you can.
