Make Your Real
Estate Website Generate Calls
By Jamey Bridges
Marketing your real estate business online
traditionally brings up ideas of optimizing your website for the search
engines, detailed pay per click campaigns, and massive content creation all in
the hopes of people visiting and submitting requests for even more
information. Although this is certainly a part of a balanced online
marketing strategy it is still possible to generate calls from your
website. These calls don't happen by accident, it takes a concentrated
effort to make the phone ring day in and day out.
More Phone Numbers Doesn't Help
Displaying a cell phone, office phone, and home phone number doesn't make you
look more available, it just makes you look desperate. It shows you are so
needy for the phone to ring that you want the customer to call you absolutely
anywhere! Not a good way to start off a business relationship.
The reality is that displaying just one phone number will actually make the
number of calls you receive from your website increase more dramatically than
you ever expected. Your next customer doesn't want to decide where they
should call you, they just want to reach out and contact you quickly, so make
it easy on them by displaying a single phone number. It doesn't matter
what you label the phone number, ("direct" is always a good choice)
just display one number. When your next customer reaches for the phone
they won't have to make a decision on what number to dial, just what question
they will be asking you.
Give Them a Reason
The problem with over 90% of real estate websites is they use the same tag line
to make their phone ring. Great information is provided and then is poorly
ended with "call me for more information at 555-555-5555". Most
people aren't even sure what information they are in need of so they
never pick up the phone to make the call. Getting your phone to ring daily
means giving them a reason to make that all important phone call.
Providing great content on your real estate website is essential, but to get
that web visitor to pick up the phone means giving them an easy reason to dial. Your call to action for a phone call must be
obvious so they don't have to guess on what they will say to you. Making
it easy isn't difficult; it just means putting yourself in your customer's
shoes. Try calls to action like:
·
Call me today at 555-555-5555 for the latest home listings in
your neighborhood
·
For more information on the different styles of architecture
available in this neighborhood call me at 555-555-5555
·
To learn more about the different buyer programs available to
first time buyers call me at 555-555-5555
These calls to action provide the website
visitor with a specific reason to pick up the phone. You are immediately
lowering their fear on the very first phone call as they just have to ask a
simple question. Once they pick up the phone, it's up to you to give them
another reason to come and meet with you, but you have already overcome the
biggest hurdle, getting them to call you from your website.
